I started listen to Jackson Brown when I was at a older cousins of mine. It was so good it was the first album I bought when I was in the 4th grade. I bought every new album after that. I was amazed that he wasn’t on the radio. Then when I was a junior in high school his running empty album came out and he had 2-3 smash hits and he was know. I’d see him in concert every time in Minneapolis. I was so surprised when another group of friends were there. The true Jackson brown fans were calling out songs from earlier albums. We all song the songs. Amazing how so many people loved his early stuff. Ones night one of my other set of friends that were at the concert. His name is Tim. We walked in the rain singing all his album before Running on Empty. We were both amazed.

I haven't listen to this album in 30 years. Jackson Browne sounds better than ever. Personification off the best of southwestern rock, folk, and soulful music. Glad I bought all t hree of his albums - For Everyman, Saturate before using, and this one

Heard this abum for the first time at college, circa 1996-7 and I've never forfotten it. "Late for the Sky" might be the saddest song you'll ever love. Brings back great memories though...

Jackson, and everyone whom is grooving to the ensembles which Jackson Brown reveals through decades of recording; I recall when I was attending a concert when you were performing at the Building of the Century in Ames, Iowa at the I.S.U. “C.Y. Stephens Auditorium” (which is awarded the “building of the Century”, best architecture in state of Iowa, At the concert, and as you transitioned to another tune some heckled you and hollered “play cocaine,” as others amplified that assertion you replied back with audience and spoke something to nature of “I’ll play the rehab version.” For a reason .I still recall this moment. Today is 3/6/2919 and I write this review in Ames. “Late for the sky” is always a favorite of mine and I have not listened to the tracks in thirty years, yet I highly suggest the album for listening to with your significant other for easing anxiety. I reside near the C.Y. Stephens Auditorium. Please, tour and perform again at this Auditorium - we all will fill the seats. So long for now Jackson Browne fanatics. Nimborock

  • The best of JB

In a career that was brilliant and remains so 40 plus years later, this remains JB's most poignant and insightful work to date, and as my personally favorite artist and an owner of his entire catalog, that is certainly a statement for me to make. On the heels of his "Pretender" album and just two albums from his "Running on Empty" rock genius, this album foretold the brilliance that was to come. The title track is arguably his greatest single track ever released. "Late for the Sky" was so emblematic of the 70s era and its post-hippy frustration and disillusionment, that no other album captures the feeling of this time better. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish, and the only album of his to crack Rolling Stones' list of the top 500 albums of all time. A well-deserved recognition, as several other albums of his should have made that list as well. A must-have album for not just Jackson fans, but for fans of great music, period.

I ran into this masterpiece when it first came out and actually wore out two copies of the LP record I had. The very very best of all of Jackson's albums... every song superbly written and sung. There is nothing like it at all any more.
