How can they go from releasing hot in the shade (yawn) to this rocking album. However, imo all of Paul’s songs are good (except ETILAY), and contrary to most people I don’t really care for the Gene songs, except Unholy (best song on the album) and thou shalt not. Spit and the other meh songs are filler which drag this album down. Still, it’s one of the better non makeup albums (I’d say third best)

After mostly bland to bad last couple albums in late 80s...Kiss went hard on this one. In my opinion this is the tightest the band has ever sounded musically. This feels like Gene’ album as mist of the best songs are his vocals. Much like “Creatures of the Night” was his as well. The last non-makeup album before selling out to those clamoring for a makeup reunion of the original members.
