  • Master tracks

The point of this album was for Art to get his master tracks for his own material because of label rights on Sparkle and Fade. Many don't get this. It's ok. I like the originals better but I get why they recorded the tracks.
  • Answer to the questions....

To answer all these questions: Art doesnt own the rights to any of the Everclear catalog prior to 2002. His wife bankrupt him. So, now when you buy any of the old albums, hear the old songs on the radio or movie, he gets nothing in compensation. With this, he can continue to make some living on the art created. I highly recommend invisible stars-it's a great great record.
  • Dammit Art...

Gone is the anger, the angst, the power, passion...replaced with lack luster covers of your own songs, and songs that should only be covered in the privacy of ones own practice studio. So why this? I dunno Art, maybe their are no more ideas coming forth, and if so that`s fine --- you`ve given us some amazing albums that will rumble our playlists for decades to come. Let`s leave it at that and not further damage the Everclear catalog. I`m gonna go play Heroin Girl and cry a little...
  • It's finally happened… Everclear as a lounge act.

There comes a point of pain for any diehard fan when the once great, arena filling rock gods transition to bad parody of what they once were. The angst and raw emotions expressed by young men don't translate to middle age, which explains why AARP will probably start sponsoring a tour of casino shows for Everclear in a few more years. A shame, really.

I can forgive them for Drama Club - but this is uninspiring & a cash grab. . Lets hope there is a bit more sparkle & a lot less fade in the next release The remakes sound like a cover band & the covers sound like Vegas outtakes - ones not good enough for a 'cover album'. Everclear missed the chance to release some great acoustic versions or real 'recreations' of their past glory. Please Art....give us more gems like the new song Follow you into the Dark....a highlight on this cd - but due to its placement - it seems more like a cry for help than a epic climax. So much for the afterglow....

...they've gotten too old, earned too much money and become too successful to write or produce any more good music. Sad. It seems to happen to them all. Best example - Sting. Nothing but boring pathetic stuff for years now.
  • Right on Everclear!

Even though this is very much the same concept as The Vegas Years or In a Different Light, this is a new Everclear, with a cool new sound. I'm really digging it, can't wait for Falling in a Good Way.
  • Great Idea!

"We haven't put out original material in years. Lets do an album of sucky covers...including our own songs!" Sparkle and Fade was a great album, everything from Everclear since then has been disappointing. They've gone from the energetic, punky goodness of "Heroin Girl" to a tired, auto-tuned-sounding version of "Every Breath You Take." That's just sad.
  • This album sounds like a business decision

This sounds like a quick money-grab, and considering how things have been for the band lately, I can't really blame them. They probably originally released this as something to sell when they go on tour…considering everyone from the original band is gone except for Art, the only way for the new members to make any money off the songs that most people actually want to hear is to re-record them. As for the songs themselves, they're not stripped down re-interpretations or anything like that. These are almost note for note replications of the original, but with all the soul and energy from the originals sadly missing. These are the kind of songs you'd except to hear as a throwaway track on some single or b-side release.
  • Why?!?

What is the obsession with remaking all of the classic songs?!? 99% of the time they don't even come close to the original. Put out an album of new material already!
