I just heard this for the first time.Puke.I have Sparkle and fade and So much for the afterglow,I believe the peak of Everclears creativeness and uniqueness haulted back then.I understand people need material to write about,but,this Idiot probably just lost half of his fans.Like Me.I vote Democrat,but,I sure dont fit into the liberal category.The problem is most entertainers do for some stupid reason and they are reaching and persuading many blank minds with their harmful beliefs.The good ole days of this country have been flushed to the ocean due to liberalism.

I loved Everclear and after Slow Motion Daydream, they've done nothing but disappoint. With this song, I'm guessing this is rock bottom for them. Jesus was a democrat? Really? So he stood for abortion? This song is really preachy and misguided. Come on Everclear, you're WAY better than this!

This was conraversial when it came out, and considered by many to be blasphemous. But when you listen to it, past the politics, there is actually a lot of truth about Jesus Christ. For example, part of the song says this: "You say Jesus loves the little children And I say I know that's true I say he loves all the muslims and the jews All the addicts and the porn stars too." The song also talks about how if Jesus was alive in the United States today, he'd be hated for being a revolutionary. It goes on to say that Jesus would be angry to see all the fake Christians in the world, which sounds harsh, but in Revelation, which portrays the end times, Jesus says he hates the practices of the Nicolaitans. So while this song may be contraversial, I do not believe it is blasphemous.

I am a democrat, proudest moment was getting my my card from the county, saying I was a crazy left wing liberal hippie, as the gun addicts call us. Even if everclear went the other way, I would still love them, I wouldnt go crazy and burn cd's. (not to mention it can't be that good for the enviroment). Great song, will love when the ppl in my school (99% Right wing) scroll through my iPod and as usual look like I just burned the flag and said 'Go hitler' I never thought an evening of being bored and feeling like being all super dem, would end like this

I don't agree with most of the lyrics of this song, but the music is quite good, and at least it provokes some interesting discussions.

dear everclear, stop making music. this idea is so bad its almost worth laughing at. secondly Jesus would not be a democrat, nor a republican. nor would he have anything to do with politics. politics by nature create division, something i don't think he was going for.

Jesus would not be a democrat nor a republican. Jesus would never stand for a party that killed babies. If he did, he would not be Jesus Christ. And it doesn't mean anything that Democrats want government to take all the money and give it to the poor. They never really do it. And have you heard of charities? You can give money to the poor by yourself instead of getting the government involved.

This is why people that think this is "too far" have no place in Rock of any kind. This song SCREAMS it as it is, just as Green Day's American Idiot did. We need to wake up and understand that what is going on in our world is NOT okay, and this song is yet another work of art (no pun intended) by an amazing band. Hopefully it gets the attention it deserves and helps impact the worldT

It's definitely a very controversal song. Hopefully their new album isn't at all like this song but the music is great and I think I agree with the song for the most part.
