I am happy to hear that Mr. Joel can still hit those notes. He can also still sing sweetly, as LULLABYE has proven here. It would be wonderful if he would make another album. Certainly he may have plenty of things to say since his last venture.

Although BJ has never aimed at perfection, the songs between John Mayer and You May Be Right could have taken a hike. While this part of the set ought to represent the meat of his catalog, it falls between the cracks. That said, we ought to trust such a quintessentially American artist the way one trusts a country preacher's angry tirade. Far be it from me to revise the concert that closed Shea Stadium. At his best, BJ at least matches any recent Paul concert and outdoes Dylan a million times over. Raise your glass to a self made man, the Great Gatsby up in here.

I think This Night should've made the album.
  • Great Concert Album... But...

First let me say that I am a giant Billy Joel fan and know all of his work. He's an amazing writer and wrote so many beautiful songs over the past 30 years. However, this album is almost sort of a repeat of "12 Gardens Live", and while this album has many new gems, it is very few from an artist such as Joel's caliber to limit his playlist. For example, why could he not reach deeper into his catalogue and played songs like, "Sleeping with the Television On", "Close to the Borderline", "Tell Her About It", "Modern Woman" and since he had guests, why not bring up Cyndi Lauper to do "Code of Silence" or his daughter to do "Baby Grand". That would make this album even more of a gem than it is being the last concert at Shea. All in all, it's a great performance and I do not expect anything less from such a prolific artist.
  • Great Billy Joel performance.

I just saw this concert on PBS. I have been a Billy Joel fan for 30 years, and I must say this is my favorite concert I have ever seen of his. That would include the times I have seen him live. This is a MUST have for all Billy Joel fans.
