  • Underrated 80s pop at its finest!

I have a feeling if the band name was not The Monkees that ithis music would be taken more seriously. The tunes are great. I recommend "Every Step Of The Way," "Midnight," and "Heart and Soul." Dolenz has a very underrated strong pop and soul voice. Please keep an open mind, and you may be pleasantly suprised with this one.

I still have the lp. Saw the Monkees in Spokane 3rd row what a great show! The Music is as good as most of the stuff put out in the mid to late 80s. I gotta download it. Too much good music and memories not to.
  • This album did not get what it deserved....

Pool It! was one of those albums that should have gotten more airplay then it did. Heart and Soul is one of the stand outs along with Secret Heart. Especially after a very successful tour that broke box office records in '86 and '87. Certainly what we have here is something just as good if not better than what was being released at the time. The only snag I run into is She's Movin' in With Rico. This song feels out of place with the rest of the album's sound. I still recommend buying the whole album, just skip She's Movin' in With Rico. Not their best album, however I would definitely consider it near the top.
  • I still love these songs 20 years later....

I bought this record, yes I said record when it came out back in the 80's. I'm now thinking of "repurchasing it" from iTunes since I love almost all the songs; Midnight, Secret Heart, Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere and Counting on You are still some of my all time Monkees favs. I would advise against Moving in with Rico and Gettin in. If you're even a part time Monkees fan, I say take "a chance baby take a chance" like Davy says in Every Step of the Way and download this 80's Monkees comeback classic. It's sure not to disappoint! :)

If any group other than the group with the name Monkees had released this album it would have been a number 1 hit! It is mostly mtv politics that kept this album down, by not showing the heart and soul video and no radio airplay, this album was unjustly sentenced to fail. There are some amazing songs on this cd and if you give it an honest chance and this is for the people who are not monkees fans, you will love alot of this album. I suggest the following tracks: 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12

In 1987 the Monkees where at the height of a comback that was supported by MTV. With Daydream Believer being a followup to the Monkees hit That Was Then, This is Now, it seems the Monkees had nothing more to add to there musical/entertainment impact. It is a shame they did not follow it with Anytime Anyplace Anywhere- a really good song. Since the Monkees put Rhino on the map, Rhino came through with this project called POOL IT. It has some really good tunes, Dont Bring Me Down, Midnight, Heart and Soul, and Every Step of The Way all have appeal and are great tunes. Gettin In is a great product from Peter Tork. When MTV stopped showing the monkees videos and supporting them it seemed this project died as fast as it came together. It is a shame that Heart and Soul did not get the video airplay or radio airplay it needed. A crime really since it was requested more than any other video during its initial release. MTV refused to air it. If you like the Monkees, this is a must have. If you are just looking for some songs to add to your ipod, look to add Midnight and well.. I'll Love You Forever is just so damn touching- you should add that too. Hope the Monkees get together for one more album- maybe a reunion is still in the cards for these guys.. I only hope....
