I am a HUGE John Denver fan and this is my favorite album of his. Even though this is not the "spirit" album (very good also), this album IMHO speaks directly to his/our spirit. So many songs on this album are beautiful tributes to nature and the way John so eloquently speaks about the miricale that nature is and how much it should be treasured is very inspirational. Since I have been a fan of his since I was very young, I had listened to this album a million times, knew all the words and could even play many of these songs on my guitar, it amazed me when one of the songs touched me so deeply one evening that I had to pull over to the side of the road to cry. That song is "Singing Skys and Dancing Waters". Like I stated, I had heard, sung and played that song a million times over during the years of listening to this album, but it never really hit me what John was trying to convey. I know John often said that his writing came to him as if he was ditacting what God was telling him and for me that couldn't be truer in the case of this song. Perhaps it was just me that was hit so hard by that song, but I do know that two decades later when I baptized my beautiful baby girl, I played this song during the service. We had the service in our back yard with the same minister that had married us, baptized my son and I waited a over a year to baptize my daughter so that he could come into town and complete the spiritual work he had done with our whole family. I chose my cousin and her husband to be her Godparents. When I played this song, her soon to be Godfather was in tears almost from the beginning of the song. So I know it touched him deeply also. If you are "searching" for some spiritual connection with your Higher Power, I strongly suggest that you listen to this song. I am not a bible thumber nor and I very tradtional when it comes to faith. I grasp desparately to find a connection and this song never fails to help me feel some sort of connection. This whole Album is great, I have bought it many times over. I highly suggest it.
