My college roomate and I used the recording of "Cold Nights in Canada" that we bootlegged off the KNX-FM broadcast of the concert for the soundtrack of a slide show of our trip up to Mt. San Gregonio. Still gives me much pleasure to hear the music and remember the mountains. "Summer" is wonderful as well; the balance and tension of unity and diversity brought out in the song is lovely.

Absolutely one of the best artist to live. Composed over 200 songs and recorded over 300. This is a perfect album of some of his greatest hits.

This is pretty much the soundtrack for my teenage years. I remember putting this cassette in the player and heading up the mountains for a day of skiing! It was magical! He is truly one of the greats and I miss him!

It’s great to read how JD’s music touched all of you, some in much the same ways. John was instrumental (no pun intended) not only in inspiring me to play guitar and write music but also to spend countless hours hiking and camping surrounded by the awesomeness of nature. This album was my favorite because you really got to know him during this performance. So many of his songs touch millions of people. I always considered “Boy From the Country” to be one of those hidden gems that had so much impact. I just hope present and future generations will be made aware of his music and message.

  • Little Brother of one of the biggest JD fans

When this album came out, I was about 10 and my exposure to any and all music came thru my older sister who was (and remains) a huge JD fan. Her first “real” concert was to travel to The Garden and see him. I can remember laying on the floor of our childhood home listening to this music and attaching myself to one of the songs, Matthew. Only had the chance to see him once as an adult with my sister in the late 80’s and was hoping to hear that one but was told he never did it anymore…. Well, lucky for me he made my night and the 8 hour drive worth it just for one song. His love of country and western still can be heard as clearly as those nights in the mid 70’s.

Being born in 1989 i never had a chance of getting into any of his concerts. How sad it is we lost him in a short time after he became loved by so many. Denver's songs are full of both love and happiness, he sang of simple things that everyone could relate to. Country died with his death cause he was truly a country boy RIP John
