John's vocals matured and perfected over the decades, performed beautifully. Just a guy and his guitar, no hiding behind effects or drama. Nearly impossible to listen to without both joy and sadness, knowing how soon after this it was the world lost a wonderful talent.

I grew up in the 70's, and thought most of his music was overplayed on am radio. I inherited my brother's LP John Denver's greatest hits and gave it a listen once in a while for nostalgia. This album live is a comletely different John Denver. HIs voice has tremendous range and tone that was never captured in the studio. Whether you are a fan or not, this is the John Denver album to purchase.

Of all his music, I think here he is at his best. "FOR YOU" is my favorite!

The first album is awesome. If you want to save $.29 on Rocky Mountain High or Country Roads you can buy them live for .99 instead of the 1.29 that you'd pay elsewhere and they still sound awesome, if not more so. Awesome album but I do not want the second disc as I do not have the money.
  • A great, final look at a master's work

I saw John Denver do this set in Concord, CA within a year of his death. The sad truth is he was a true master of his own music and put a mature spin on the old songs. Sometimes old bands can play the same songs over and over and just collect a paycheck. This is a great album.

At 13 years old in an age of Heavy Metal, R & B, Rap(Crap in my opinion), I grew up a "Country boy" in Missouri with my parents, My Father a huge John Denver fan. Now in maine and wishing he was alive because it would be amazing to see a hero in my eyes live. I ventured from John Denver for a few years until a few days ago I came across a song of his on the radio, I forgot how crisp and clear of a voice he had. Long live the Music of, not just a muscian an outstanding man and long this cd, the best cd john denver had ever came out with! Rest in Peace John, Rest in Peace

I have been a fan since 1974...Our High school graduation song was Poems, Prayers & Promises. Attended my first concert in Tahoe in 1976, and then always was attending concerts in Nevada or California. My girls were raised on John Denver music, and in fact, my 9 year old now requested Eagles & Horses be added to her IPOD. So, even though, he tragically lost his life, his music lives on....

As a child I grew up listening to John Denver music because my Mother was a fan of him. I could sing along with most of his songs by heart as a child (and even now I still do) and of all the concerts that I have attended the two concerts that I enjoyed the most were John's concerts at Stephens Auditorium in Ames, Iowa. John didn't need fancy light shows or high energy antics to entertain-he simply sang and he talked to the audience. My Mother gave me the Wildlife CD set and I LOVE IT! I my only wish is that I could have taken my children to a John Denver concert so that they could experience his wonderful music live like I did. I will always have a place in my heart that is sad that John died so young and so suddenly.
