Something In the Way - EP

...the songs kinda center me, you know, and lend balance to my life...it's sorta like when spider webs brush across your face when your go'n through the woods to the hidden pond...sunlight is gleaming through dampled leaves and your binky is getting hard...okay, well, semisoft...but your girlfriend is smile'n at you cuz she always has had a thing for dweebs...did'ja bring any cookie dough? olive oil? post-coital chocolate bars? No? Sorry don't know if I can maintain the vibe...Best Coast is help'n though...always had a thing for reverb & surfer girls...Look! There's some sand in your belly button...lucky you're an outty cuz I can build a sand castle from all the sand...you wanna do some yoga paddleboarding?

It is shockingly apparent, now, that a BUNCH of bands, both boy AND girl, are jumping on the "Low-Fi" 60s garage-girl-band bandwagon thing. It seems that everyone heard the Vivian Girls, from N.Y., and said, "Wow, something new I can copy"! Well, boys & girls, its not new. Check out The Shangrilas, The Shaggs, and many, many, other cool 60s girl bands. Now these newbies are copying each other and saturating clubs and our turntables (OR your trusty i-pod!). They are all sounding EXACTLY the same now and its already BOOORING! There IS a boy band from San Francisco (The Fresh & Onlys) who kinda started out like this, but quickly evolved and matured in just two years. Their newest album is SO beautiful. Do yourself a HUGE favor an buy 'Play It Strange', their new LP. They are even better live. And as for all these carbon copies? Just buy Vivian Girls, if you want the new stuff, please. AND check THEM out live!

I like this record. The songs are not bad at all. However I think this is one of those bands that is made up of cool kids/hip kids because music like this has been around forever and somehow these guys rise to the top with middle of the road stuff? If you want some simple music with sorta catchy melodies and something you've heard before but want more of, buy it!!!!!!

I like this band. It seems that the fuzziness of it all serves solely as a facade; a golden gate to protect and blur their delicate hearts. I guess what I'm saying is if you look deeper, if you find a way to dig past the distortion, you will find something very honest and beautiful.

I can barly hear the words.

They are on to something, and i've dug some of there hits. But after seeing them live for the first, they need to grow a little. Every song seems to hit the same note.

Forgot this was coming out today and was a plesant surprise to find it here. Amazing like always but still waiting on a full length. Keep up the good work.
