Reviews

  • Great Set List, Terrible Mix

A great performance by Warren, but this is quite posibly one of the worst mixed live albums I have ever heard. On many of the songs, the acoustic guitar drowns out Warren's vocals almost completely. It's a shame, and no exuse for an acoustic performance.

This album contains 2 absolute killers. The live version of French Inhaler. And Zevon's most effecting recording of all time (in this fan's opinion), the live version of The Indifference of Heaven. The Wind was a warning to slow down and examine and enjoy your life before you're eventually forced to. This song will havie you doing exactly that before its over.

I've listened to this album for years. It's my only Warren Zevon album - I don't think I'd be able to capture the affection I have for this album if I'd round out the collection. It's never stale and always exhilarating. I came curious to iTunes to see what others might have to say and was surprised that it appears to not be very well known. I'm writing to right that wrong: I support Warren Zevon's Learning to Flinch, and would submit that the iTunes review is not sufficiently enthusiastic.
  • Shame on you iTunes

The sample for Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner is riduculous! I understand it is an extending piece but how do you expect someone to buy the album when you only sample an intro? No vocals! Shame On YOU! This is a great album of a legendary singer song writer. You can do better than that.

I absolutely LOVE this album. It showcases Zevon as the great songwriter he was and is must have for anyone who calls themselves a fan of music.
