I would consider myself a Jack White fan and I really wanted to like the new material but god it really is awful. It took about 30 seconds of listening to Connected by Love to come to this conclusion. I'm also a little disappointed that a ticket to go see Jack White now costs $80 plus for GA. I could pay it but won't.

For all the haters who are saying these songs are garbage, you obviously are not true Jack White fans! He is a musician first! Listen again. He is evolving and if you can’t understand that than maybe you should go play your one hit wonders playlists!

The sound of Connected By Love seems somewhat flat and inorganic.
Maybe it's the musicians or perhaps the production either way it has lead to some wholly uninspired track. And Respect Commander is an overindulgent mess. Not really a song at all. Just terrible.
In all not as spontaneous, fresh and cohesive as his previous releases.

Always have to listen to something a few times b4 grading it fairly. It's very different and may take awhile to warm up to. Jack's songs are meant to be heard as a complete album. He's not really a singles guy. That being said,I hope the other songs a bit more melodic and heavier.
