I was expecting these to all be just Jack and his acoustic guitar. Guess I should have done more research. It’s basically just a greatest hits record.

If you're just barely familiar with Jack White and own none of his output and figured he has some catchy acoustic songs that you previously heard on TV, in movies, etc., then sure, go get this. But, if you already own all the White Stripes and Jack White albums, then don't get this; or else you will soon realize that you got hosed, fleeced, exploited, duped. This is an UNNECESSARY and duplicative release for the already avid Jack White fan.
  • Not great.

For someone who listens to everything Jack White has put out I love this album, even if and maybe even especially that I own have a lot of these songs on other albums. Listening to songs I admire in a new setting and a time line structure has me listening to each song like it's new again. The new songs are quite a treat and make this even more special. This is the perfect album for anyone who does not know any of Jack White's catalog. Getting exposed to all these great songs then being able to go dive into his catalog and be blown away. Do yourself a big favor and treat yourself to this album even better head to Nashville or Detroit and pick it up in person from Third Man Records. Enjoy.
  • Warning! Greatest Hits Package

Like a lot of other people, I didn't hesitate to pre-order when I first heard about this collection. I probably should have read the fine print. I figured it would be lots of unreleased material, demos, live cuts, etc. Instead it's a greatest hits package under a deceptive name. Pretty disappointing because I already have most of these songs on their original albums. 9 of the 26 songs are "previously unreleased", but 6 of those are just "acoustic mix" versions of the original. The only songs I never heard before were "City Lights" and "Love Is The Truth" I guess I'll have to wait for the Jack White Bootleg Series because this ain't it!
  • disappointing! An Obvious Material Recycle, Cash-In

I love Jack White's music, I always have. Naturally I was excited to hear about this record of acoustic tunes! I thought it'd be almost like a studio version of an MTV unplugged session with Jack playing some covers and even old white stripes songs on acoustic...BUT, it's simply just the mellower songs from his previous albums (same exact versions, pulled from those albums) compiled onto one playlist. In fact, I could have made 97% of this album as a playlist years ago and saved myself a few bucks. I was disappointed. This was clearly made as a way to recycle his old material and put 1 new track on it and charge $18.99. I mean, Yea, the songs are good...but i thought they were good when I heard them for the first time 15 years ago. Times must be getting hard for Jack.

I did preview this album thru Amazon prime and I loved it. I truly believe this is a must have album for those who want a well rounded collection. I highly recommend this as well if you are a Jack White fan of course.
