Reviews

  • Sorry guys.

I really want to love this album. However, it let me down in every way imaginable. Honestly, it was barely listenable on the first go through. The only reason I kept listening was for the hope that their funky bass player would start doing his thing eventually; he only is able to shine on one or two tracks. Please Yeasayer pick back up the guitars and the bass, and the drums and make another good album.
  • A truly independent album

Performed perfectly, Yeasayer's Fragrant World is an electropop indie masterpiece. The hooks are one of a kind; sometimes driven by heavy beats and tripped out synths and other times sit atop gorgeous melodies and perfect song structure, the previous review is correct in saying this is Yeasayer's best organized work to date.
  • Yeasayer's Experimental Electronic Album

Yeasayer's Fragrant World brings to mind a doomed apocalyptic world that's been brought down to it's knees. This is Yeasayer's most consistent album, keeping an electronic vibe throughout. This makes it a very easy album to consume in one sitting. There are only a couple of weak tracks, those being "No Bones" and "Damaged Goods." I would highly suggest this album, but I warn that it may not appeal to everyone.
