  • Frusciante, PLEASE COME BACK!!

There was a group called the 'Red Hot Chili Peppers.' That group consisted of Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and the irreplaceable (Jimi Hendrix Jr.) John Frusciante. And that group is our modern Led Zeppelin. Frusciante made 5 albums with them. That's it. He's a prodigy that only cares about one thing. Music. Not fame. Not celebrity status. Just, simply, Music. He may be one of the best Musicians of all time. Remember, Just 5 albums. They skyrocked only because of his passion, talent, unreal knowledge of theory, an Angel's voice and cohesion with Flea and Chad. 5 albums with Frusciante = Not One Bad Song. In those 5 albums you can hear his heart and soul. Especially LIVE!! He gave it all he had in every note, every single show. He never tried to just make a hit. He is just that extraordinary. NO FRUSCIANTE - NO 'Red Hot Chili Peppers.' Period.
  • If you don't have this...

...then do buy it. Recommended for Pepperheads. Good covers. Except for the Neil Young cover, this is not new and is a compilation. For six songs for 4.99 you really can't go wrong. These songs range from Blood Sugar era to I'm With You. My personal favorite on here is Havana Affair which covers the Ramones. They performed this one live in By the Way and Stadium Arcadium eras. Search and Destroy they have performed live many times. Three different guitarists appear in this compilation: John Frusciante, Dave Navarro, and Josh Klinghoffer. One gripe is RHCP's sound quality since Californication: very loud, "brick-walled" volumes with serious dynamic compression, some of the worst in the industry. It's fatiguing as they say, part of the "loudness war" and to the likes of producer Rick Rubin. This EP is constantly hitting the volume ceiling and "clipping" more so for what you buy on iTunes. As this is a compilation most of these songs are not new. But most people including some Pepperheads like myself haven't owned this. Overall I like it and enjoy the diverse ability of what the Red Hots can play.

This shows their wide array of talent. They can play anything (and make it sound like it's theirs).

You have to come to expect the RHCP to blow your mind away from time to time. They continue to evolve as a group and these covers show just how talented they really are. I think it is are great tip of the cap and a great way to enter the HOF. keep the hits coming
