I thought title my review "inspiration to aspire to" because it was on this particular tour I saw David Crosby for the first time in a very intimate venue in Seattle Wa. called "the backstage". Could not have been more than 150 people there.. Sounded just like this audience recording. The venue closed down years ago so to have this recording for $6.99 was worth every penny. The musicianship is so effortless and genuine that I left the show saying to myself "I just witnessed greatness". And they made you feel as though it was all about gratitude that we were even there to listen. No Mr. Crosby.. The gratitude was all mine. Your presentation that evening introduced a 21 year old young man to a new understanding of how musicians can connect with their audience in a way that places them in a moment of their life they will never forget and wish to return to maybe just once before the pearly gates come a callin'. This is Crosby refreshed and back with a new found energy which lifts each musician he shares the stage with to an ecstatic level. Let the audience indicate what that energy feels like in such an intimate setting. I know the group picked as a preference to do smaller venues for just that reason. There are zero mistakes.. Just crisp, clear, satisfaction to behold for your listening pleasure. In my opinion more established musicians should play the smaller venues.. It's truly where the talent shines.. And you feel it, that's all I can say about this album! Ha!
  • Truly great live versions of great songs

I am a huge fan of Stills guitar so I thought that I would not like someone else backing Dave up. But Jeff Pevar was one of the best suprises of this album. I absolutely love the combination of Crosby's songs, Crosby's voice and Pevar's guitar. This version of Cowboy Movie has got to be my favorite. I saw them in concert, just Dave and Jeff alone on stage. It was unbeleivable. By the way, this album lead me to CPR. Excellent stuff.
