This album is pretty sweet, it has great replayablity and Howards voice is very powerful and full of emotion. It may be different fromt the past albums, but give it a chance. I think this album has the best clean vocals. For example in songs like Lost, I would do anything, I would do anything. Also Never Again is an incredible opening track to the album. One problem that many people seem to have with this album is that it doesn't have the same kick in the tone of the guitars. Which is very noticable upon the first listens but it isn't a huge problem but this album focuses much more on the entire band instead of one person. This is just one of those albums that has alienated and split KSE's fanbase but I still can enjoy it and grow with the band
  • Their worst album but still very good with some epic songs

Other than This is Goodbye, Never Again, and In a dead World, this album isn't great. Really don't like the different sound and style they went with on this album, I think they should've stuck with having Adam D produce it because this other guy, Brendan O'brien produced their worst album. Just like Bob Rock is to blame in the decline of Metallica after and justice for all, Brendan is to blame for this album Thank god their new album Disarm the Descent is the best album in music since Alive or Just breathing. It's so great ot have Jesse Leach back, he fits the band so much better. Howards singing style is so antiquated, half of his choruses made them sound like gospel metal LOL Plus his screams always sounded so artificial, no emotion in it and you could see it when he was on stage. I've spoke to Howard myself, before As Daylight Dies and even back then, he wasn't happy with the bands style, strangely he's into heavier stuff which is weird considering the band got a lot softer when he joined
  • is this Nickelback or KSE?

Sounds too much like Nickelback... They need to get the vital sound that AOJB had. They then might spark an interest with me. This album is not well formulated. All the songs sound exactly the same because every song on this album follows the mainstream pattern, THAT'S NOT A GOOD THING!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only good song on this album is "This is Goodbye" because it contains elements of ADD during the heavy parts. Plus, the chorus guitar riff is fascinating because it sounds almost identical to the main riff of "Hotel California" made famous by The Eagles! The song "Starting Over" sounds like a mesh or mixture of Jonas Brothers and KSE PLUS THE FACT THAT THIS SOUNDS TOO RADIO FRIENDLY!!!!!! The song "The Forgotten" sounds just like every other song on the radio and it has that lame drop D Three Days Grace sounding chorus."The Reckoning" is way to mellow! This song is very overrated and is ABSOLUTELY not a masterpiece like Howard Jones claimes it is. All reckoning is just another alternative mainstream tune that tries to catch the fans attention with its extremely irratating and annoying chorus. Overall if your a fan of the masterpiece AOJB don't buy this album because you will be overly dissapointed. This record sounds rushed and needed to be more contemplated, "and well thought out" more before they initiated the recording process. If you like mainstream music and are a diehard KSE fan then this is an album that you wil dig. but if your a huge fan of AOJB I wouldn't recommend buying this because it gets very repititve it seems.

This album was made "Well" overall but there were a few songs I questioned. Reckoning is the best song on the album period.
  • Good Album, Not KSE

I actually have a copy of th cd and if you read the fine print, KSE did not record this album. Nick DiDia recorded the drums and vocals and Adam Dutkiewicz recorded the bass and guitars. Adam D is in the band, but he's not the bassist and Nick D isnt in the band at all

I bought this album when it first came out.I think the week after it was released..Anyways,i know that their sound has changed but it is still good.Howard poured his heart and soul into this album and he deserves credit for it.So do the other members.Change isnt always for the worse.
  • Lame.

I Hate Rap, with a passion, it was (and I guess still is, but music is so much more segregated now, due to the in Internet) very popular when I was very young, so my parents beat it into my brain that it was bad, unfortunately they failed to do this with metal. Recently I had begun a flirtation with metal but I know me listening to the harsh anti-everything nihilistic message would only bring trouble for a crazy person like me. Then I found Killswitch Engage, and thier music is great. Keep up the good work Guys. Do not Compromise (and yes I know they are not a 'Religious' band)
