Why is it that the albums that are the least popular are always the best ones?

I guess you could say I'm biased, because I love Third Eye Blind. Im kind of pissed though, as I had written a review for this album on here years ago, just now to find it gone, deleted, removed, whatever the case may be. This album came out in 2003, when I was 17. I remember picking it up from (of all places) Target (thats where I worked at the time), bringing it home and plopping into my cd player. At first, it seemed a bit hard for me to catch on to the tracks, but the more I listened, the more I fell in love. This album became the soundtrack to the many months that followed for me. My senior prom, my high school graduation, and more importantly, the summer that followed, spent with a girl whom I had fallen in love with. I remember listening to this on the way to return my prom tux, laying in my bed listening to this, driving in my car listening to this, and telling all of my friends about it. It just seemed to resonate with me. The aforementioned girl and I ended up going to different schools...but continued dating. It became harder to see her, and much harder to listen to the album, as it reminded me of so many good times. What I can say this this: almost 10 years later, I still play this album, on heavy rotation. When I listen to it, I'm reminded of a lot of good times, and a lot of bad, and about just how young I really was back then. I can also listen to it now with a slightly more matured set of ears, and appreciate the music and the lyrics even more, now that I understand more. If you own any of Third Eye Blind's albums, but are hesitant to buy it, go for it. I doubt you'd be disappointed. The whole album is great, but standout tracks for me are Faster, Blinded, Danger, My Hit and Run, and Good Man. I did a lot of research on this album too (thats what I do when I like something) and from what I understand and read, a majority of it is about Stephan's breakup with actress Charlize Theron. When listening, you can hear lots of bits that can totally relate to that, but listen for yourself, and make it your own soundtrack. Like I did.
  • Great Summer Album

This album is great for a summer soundtrack. It's got good hooks, mellow guitar sounds, and awesome vocals. For this release third eye blind stuck to the tried and true formula which they saw working for them, and we can't complain about that because it means there's not a weak song on the album. The first two tracks "faster" and "blinded" stick with me the most. It's not their best album ever, that honor goes to their first release, but it has a flavor of typical 3EB so who are we to complain.

I grew up listening to these guys and I love all of their songs. They never seem to get old
  • Among best albums ever.

This is one of the greatest albums of all time, up there with Pink Floyd's The Wall. I got lucky and found it on a clearance rack, but knowing what I do now, I'd pay fifty bucks for it if I had to. I listen to the whole thing nearly every day, never get sick of it, and never hear anything wrong with it.
  • Best TEB Album

It may take a little to grow on you, but once it does, it's the best TEB album to date (including the new Ursa Major release). 1. The lyrics are not only mysterious like the last two albums, they are deeper and more meaningful. 2. The bridges, solos, and climaxes are the best on this CD. 3. The sound is just great. Other than "Self-Righteous," they all capture your attention very well.
