I've searched far and near and I have been unable to find a finer cd than this. There are others that are close like Bob James and Joe Sample but none are better than this classic. If you are new to smooth jazz then you have stumbled on a true winner. I have over 30,000 cd's and this ranks up there in the top 10! Should George do another cd in the near future he can forget topping this contribution. No singing just showcasing the ivories with some extra smooth backing. How can you go wrong? This is definitely a mood setter as well as a firestarter. George should probably be responsible for child support after all this baby making music!

Saw Joe Williams once, and remember being struck by the depth of what I was experiencing: the miles in bumpy buses, the smokey rooms, the sea of faces, buzzing speakers, clinking glasses, the back entrance, hot lights, sweaty brows, the gigs-gigs-gigs. It was all on Joe's face, and in his voice. He was there at the beginning, lived it, became it. What George has created here could not have been done by a green musician. It's all here, From the tasty licks with the Mothers, to the present, condensed into a mood tapestry, each track rolling to your ear like the next wave in the set. Feed your soul. You know it's hungry.
