Pretty uneven album, with some songs quite dated if not downright silly. Sample first. Some tasty stuff but also some less than fluff.
Awesome!

I practiced this music on drums until I dropped. It helped prepare for my professional career as a r&b drummer. I never took lessons, just practiced to music like this. It does not get any better than this.
One of the baddest!

This is without a doubt one of the best live fusion recordings by four legendary (Scofield was new to the scene but a legend in the making) Players. I have a well worn copy on vinyl and two copies that I imported on CD way back when. Kudos to iTunes for making this available.
almost perfect

European audiences are so quiet and respectful of the art, why do Americans have to join voices in a live setting? This recording is OLD and it sounds fantastic. This and Stanley Clarke are all I need on a long road trip.

While Cleaning my house part 2.. so I reviewed/commented Spectrum...then I saw an icon for this Live Album. Then I went back to my bathroom closet where I kept all my vinyl records and listeed to this.
Wow..what a performace. aside from Billy & George.. he's got then young Alphonso and Jon. I saw this tour at Roxy on Sunset in LA/Hollywood. I remember lining up hours before the show.. I think Roxy club only holds 500 people. I did get a front table/seat had my arms resting on stage. And it blew my mind. I am a guitarist - kind of a Rock Snob with Beatle influence. that night changed my life.. I still love Led Zep and Beatles. but I enjoy the Fusion Jazz a lot.. I thought 25 year old Jon Scofield was amazing that night I believe Alfonso was very young ... like 19 at that time.
Cudos to iTUNES for recognising good music and bringing these timeless master performace to digital age..
Thanks
Cobhams best album!

This album is without a doubt Billy Cobahms finest! I wore it out on vinyl and now let's see how long it takes to wear it out digital!
Classic set from a jazz fusion supergroup.

A blistering lineup that not only featured Mr. Cobham and Mr. Duke but also the extraordinary Alphonso Johnson on bass and a young John Scofield on guitar. Funky and furious, this is one of those seminal live albums that showcases what a magical time this era was for cooking instrumental jazz-rock. A must-have!
