  • Haunting Music

I bought this album from iTunes a while back. I think it's a good album and the musician clearly displays amazing talent. Having said that, I also find this album to be a bit eerie. Some of the songs sound like the music you hear in a moment of suspense in a thriller movie, so they sound a bit spooky. Falling asleep to this music did not work for me because of that, but I do think it is good music and obviously alot of people seem to like it.

Tom Rossi's Sweet Repose is a musical journey toward peace, calm and relaxation. Using a variety of acoustic and ethnic instruments from across the world, Rossi creates a lush sonic world that exists outside the stresses of daily life. This amazing combination of ancient and contemporary sounds unfolds into a rich sonic tapestry, carrying the listener away from anxiety and worry to a place of relaxation. Purely recorded for maximum sound quality, the three lengthy compositions on this CD feature amazing performances on acoustic instruments, lending authenticity to their inherent beauty. You will hear cello, swaramandala, hammer dulcimer, singing bowls and more. Droning, lush and rich with melody and space, Tom Rossi's compositions will thrill your spirit while soothing your soul. Each CD from Music For Deep Sleep is made with the utmost purity and integrity of sound. We invite you to explore each one.

I've known Tom Rossi's music for years of him playing his African harp for our hospice patients. He has an undeniable gift of healing in his music. The choice of instrumentation on Sweet Repose is very beautiful. I love his piano work on Rain Blue and the french horns on Falling Home. This recording is a must have.

I have Tom Rossi's first album, Salma Har, and it is awesome! This one is also incredibly beautiful. Rossi is very talented at making peaceful, yet powerful music. As a sleep aid, or just relaxing around the house, this is amazingly effective music. Take it from someone who suffers from insomnia, this is good medicine.

I loved the tracks - music for inner calm and peace that comes from real instruments, not electronic sounds. The musicianship and affinity for world traditions is apparent immediately, giving it a beauty and focus that so far eludes "new age" tracks. The clincher though- I used it for massage therapy clients, who usually doze off for a few minutes at various times during the session, but are not usually fast asleep. When playing Sweet Repose, the they are invariably sound asleep within 20 minutes and need to be gently shaken and reminded of where they are at the end of the session!
  • Great for massage therapy

Throw out the sleep drugs. This album is really ideal to bring the blood pressure down. I'm really enjoying Rossi's imaginative, non-synthesizer approach this kind of music.

Oh, my God! Yes, more Tom Rossi, please. I'm so glad I found this one. Gorgeous record. I've been using this for my meditation classes and it is incredibly effective for going deep. Falling Home is an amazing track with French horns and cellos. More, more, more.
