I'm beginning to believe that Jake is the "love child" of B.B.King and George Harrison! His heart is in every note he plays.

I don't usually write reviews but this time I feel I have to in order to get the word out that this guy is awesome. He's definately unique, taking ukulele to whole new levels. Not to mention he's got some real talent. I hope he gets far, and he probably will.

Edward Weston once said that great photographs are created in the mind not in the camera – so it is with the music of Jake Shimabukuro – the music comes from the heart and mind of the performer through his chosen instrument, the ukulele. This is a heartfelt album of music Jake heard while growing up presented in a simple, most lyrical and straightforward fashion, beautifully crafted

What a wonderful and unique sound. He is truely an artist to create a new sound to known songs. I highly recommend this album and to discover this great talent.

If someone had told me a few years ago I'd be buying -- and recommending -- an album of ukelele songs, I'd have said, "Right. Next thing you'll be saying is that I'll love William Shatner's 'Has Been' or Paul Anka's 'Rock Swings.'" Oh, wait, I love those, too. Call me a freak, but all 3 bring a unique and very interesting perspective to what we think we know and love.
