Saw Jake at Musicfest and he is over the top! He's even inspired my 3.5 to play his ukelele. To hear his journey to where he is today is inspirational!

Jake makes the ukeulele sound like a harp! I play a baritone uke and enjoy the folkie sound, but he is 'way out of my class. I sent him out on my Facebook page, and have l lots of positive responses. Thank you, Jake, for proving that a ukulele is a serious instrument.

I discovered this artist YEARS ago and have seen him live 3 times and am in awe every time I listen. When my fiancé was just a guy I was dating we knew we both loved Ave Maria as a wedding song. When we get married in May I will walk down the aisle to this version and have no doubt it will be amazing! Thanks for making music that moves me.

I just discovered Jake a couple of months ago.... and I was in awe from the jump. This album is SO beautiful but there are two songs that MAKE ME WEAK! While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Misty. It's hard to improve on those two songs but Jake has taken them to an entirely different level. Transcendent.

When he plays only few players can tap the being called human he reaches it I get chills in certain passages because he goes past most players boundaries .

I am singing sakura in chorus and this album has the prettiest version of it that I could find.

Simply stunning. Jake Shimabukuro is the first person I know of to have taken a musical instrument so impossibly far from its typical genre and arrived someplace better. The equivelant would be placing the electric guitar in classical music and getting it to sound good (not an appealing thought, but I'm just saying). At this point, I am ready to believe that Jake would be right at home in any genre. The only thing I am disappointed with on this album is the final track; the vocal version of "Wish On My Star." After the first intoxicating displays of masterful talent, the singer and unimpressive lyrics give the track a fake, tacked on feel. But everything else makes up for it. I'll be following Jake's every move from now on, awaiting his next album eagerly. Long live the ukulele!
