This album is as polished as Stay Gold to me but I find much more soul in this album personally. Every song lyrically has me tearing up, the harmonies are stunning as they always are, I can feel the emotion Klara and Johanna put forward with this album. Absolutely love it.

I have been a First Aid Kit fan for a long time. I have all of their work. This album is their most mature and deepest so far. Very well done.

These two sisters are angels from heaven. Sent to earth to sing and make the world a better place.
  • Timeless, ageless music

These young ladies seem like old spirts. Their songwriting channels the likes of Emmylou with harmonies of the Everlys. Blessed with such immense talent. Grateful that YouTube did a 'recommended for you' of Ghost Town and turned me on to FAK. Lucky me. Won't say this album is better than their previous work, it is different and as with their previous material, it is a joy to listen to. Enjoy.

  • Too Polished...

I really like the songs, lyrically, and musically, but the production is way too polished sounding. Personally, I think ALL of these songs would have sounded much better with a whole lot of the Production Polishing taken down several notches, giving them a more raw, more live sound. I think that would have done these songs true justice. They're probably great live.

It's been a while since Stay Gold released, this was worth the wait. I've been listening since I first heard them in 2010 with Big Black and the Blue. It's great to back to to their first EP and listen up to Ruins. They've been wonderful since the start, but the growth! Fireworks already has my vote for 2018 Song of the Year (not that my vote counts!) and it's only January.

Great sound. Sounds more country than alternative.
