"Naked" is (somewhat) a return to form after the Heads' previous two albums, which were focused musically on American folk and pop writing. "Naked" takes us back to the world music vibe of the Heads' middle-career albums, but in a purer form; the album was recorded in Paris with an international band. From "Blind" until "(Nothing But) Flowers" The album excels, with the band's strongest opener since "Speaking In Tongues" and the beautiful antithesis to "Life During Wartime," "(Nothing But) Flowers." the later tracks are very weak in comparison, being slow, melancholy pieces that don't match up to the fun, more lighthearted style of theopening songs. A final fine addition to theis remastered version of the album is the song "Sax and Violins," previously a single, which serves as a better closer track than the actual one, "Cool Water." "Naked" is by no means the band's best work, but is quite underappreciated and deserves a look from fans.

Side one is amazing (Blind -> Flowers), but side two is pure crap, save for Cool Water and Sax and Violins (my favorite Talking Heads song... quite possibly).
  • Under appreciated!

Talking Heads last official album as they were known before the 1991 break-up of the band. Not commercially as popular as "Little Creatures", but much more musically creative. This album maintained the familiar eclectic lyrics for which they are so well known. One of my favorites. Check out "Mr. Jones", "Totally Nude" and "The Democratic Circus".
