This album is rare now a days that every song on it is my favorite. Solid. Awesome. And rocks.

If Janis Joplin had Elton John's love child, her name would be Beth Hart. She rocks on this album and she's even better live.

Beth Hart can SING and ROCK! To see her in concert was one of the best nights of my life! Leave the Light On is one of my all time favorite albums. I highly reccommend her.

My daughter turned me onto this artist. I was afraid it might be a little country but not so. Her voice is a little like Janice Joplin yet a lot smoother. She has great range and is hard to classify. I think you will enjoy her. Start with "Hold Me Through The Night"
  • Not yet discovered in America...Beth is the best that's out there!

Very briefly... Beth is the greatest "little know in America" artist alive. After first seeing her as Janis Joplin in a play... I came to the conclusion she's better than Janis. I've been in radio and music all my life...I'm 72... and having lived in Texas and "spinning" Janet's records my entire career... I feel I speak with some authority. Beth's voice quality is better and no one comes close to her in intensity. The first time she appeared on my show and started pounding her chest to keep rhythm I knew I was "no longer in Kansas". She's a unique talent with her own style and as original as it gets.
  • one of the greatest.... must have!

I have been a Beth Hart fan since the first time I heard her sing. She is constantly pushing the limits and never stays inside "The Box". This is one of her most personal lyrically profound cd's. Every song on here touches you emotionally in one way or another. The title track "Leave the light on" is by far one of my all time favorites. But then again I love every song on this cd. I wore out my store bough copy and had to buy it thru iTunes this time. I have it on my iPod iPhone and both my mac computers. I never leave home without this cd. In listening order of favorites on this cd Leave the light on; Lifetime; world without you; sky full of clover; I'll stay with you; broken and ugly; and so on.... No cd collection is complete without having ALL of Beth Hart's cd's in it!

Her 3rd album and one of the best CDs I own. Altough sevral other verions of this album exist most with extra songs not available here, you will pay ALOT for them because they are imports. This is the standard international verison (the U.S. release). All 11 of these songs are fantastic! If you like Beth this is her best work. If your a new fan this is the prefect album to start out with. Inspirational, joyful, uplifing, hopeful. You'll enjoy.

I can't speak highly enough of this woman. Her unsurpassed vocal gift is stunning to listen to both recorded and live. She is passionate, strong, and one of the best female artists of all time! I highly recommend all of her albums.

I had never heard of Beth Hart until I saw her on, of all things, Soap Talk. She performed "World Without You" and I cried. Her voice wrings every bit of emotion out of the song, then starts sucking it out of you. She'll rip out your heart, stomp on it, make you stomp on it, pick it up, dust it off, and pop it back in, a little worse for wear but somehow fuller. Take a chance with this album. It's worth every penny.
