Laws of Illusion is by far one of the GREATEST cds Sarah McLachlan has ever made! I LOVE this album and can listen to it endlessly. Thought that last few cds were my favorite, but this is by far the best album. I am so impressed! Afterglow was a great album ~this is a seamless follow up leaving one feeling content and postitive.

Love Sarah but this is utter crap. All the songs sound the same and I don't even think there is one song an the album that I really like.

Though it doesn't reach the heights of 'Fumbling Towards Ecstasy' as an album, it has some very solid songs and I would say may be the best overall effort since 'Fumbling.' Sarah's voice is always what gets me. It's so darn pure and always pitch perfect on all here recordings but this one has strong songs to boot. Give it a listen.

I Can't stop playing this album the songs are sooo great and almost all of them can be singles ESP songs Rivers of love and u want me 2 as they're my favorites sarahs new album rivals fumbling as that album is a masterpiece well this one is also. Great job Sarah. I see why this album is almost gold with hardly any exposure. Her music speaks for itself

Don't want to speak too soon as Fumbling Towards Ecstasy is, in my opinion, one of the greatest CDs of all time - I think this is a release that can finally rival it. I feel like the music has the same depth and haunting melodies that FTE does. I do agree that in some parts her voice sounds somewhat overproduced but it's not enough for me to really take away from the songs. Seems a lot of other long time fans are disappointed with the release - as one who is not, I'd say check it out for yourself. I was wary, while I love her last few I feel they just don't measure up to FTE. I'm glad I decided to check it out.

I am a die hard Sarah McLachlan fan. I love every song she has ever released, and have every one of them. To be honest, this album did not measure up to my expectation. But it would have to be difficult to continually 'outdo' such great work. Her music is so incredible, it's got to be a challenge to maintain that level at all times. Songs #1,#2, #3, & #7 on the album I could live without -- song#7 I actually cannot stand, the background music is incredibly annoying to listen to. The others are much better, and my favorites are Songs #5 and #11. All in all, it's a "must have" because it's Sarah. You can't NOT have it. I am enjoying the album, but would probably prefer to go back and listen to Afterglow and Mirror Ball -- which I'll never be able to get enough of.
  • Haunting melodies, good album, yet could be better

Sarah's voice is still amazing, yet I agree with some reviews that this album is a bit overproduced. Sarah is at her best when she delivers raw energy, such as in the songs Forgiveness, Illusions of Bliss, Rivers of Love, Love Come without the synthesized production that comes from the studio. Sarah's songs delivered me through a very rough, stupid time in my life and I am always eager to hear her sing new songs that speak of love and the pain of broken hearts. Everyone hopes that Sarah will release an album that speaks directly to them, which is obviously not possible. Yet, you feel the pain Sarah has experienced that has driven the production of this release. Bring on the Wonder delivers some of the haunting melodies that make your heart ache for love. Sarah, you are an outstanding talent.

I love this album, and just about ALL of Sarah's stuff! Simply amazing! But why can't I get Angel or Ice Cream for the traditional 99 cents? It's totally worth the $1.29 they're asking, but I just can't afford it right now. Why must you torment me?! (And why are songs no longer the original 99 cents, anyway? What happened?) :(
