to Novaes, 100% correct. Back then all we had were maxell and tdk to handle our 5th generation dubbings. Regardless if it were metal or hardcore the more distorted the better. Listen to Reign in Blood now, the production is so ultra clean that it holds nothing to haunting the chapel, hell awaits, or show no mercy. Some things should have stayed with metal blade and combat. Possessed is truly a wonderful band, I had more warped beyond the gates albums as well Seven Churches tapes that would not seem to handle a days worth of listening to. Sacrifice Torment in Fire is also a gem. For people saying Scream Bloody Gore was the first death metal album obviously never heard seven churches and i think it came out a full two years prior to Death,,, oh well once Death came around it was time to start listening to my old Dirty Rotten LP.... pick this up if you want how to know how metal sounded before all the post production def jam bs....

The song quality doesn't bother me, I just prefer the studio quality. But people should just buy the albums instead of pleading iTunes to get Possessed albums.
Where, where?

So, after all the time in the world has passed and other bands get a complete or nearly complete discography and you can't or won't update possessed library? The most under rated band ever... Possessed. I'm rating iTunes, not the album.
I tunes...please get Possessed albums people want!

I tunes can you please create a link where we can go to request albums you don't have? You've come a long way but it's times like this with Possessed that I wish we can get all the albums from them on the site like everyone is asking for i.e. Seven Churches, Beyond the Gates etc. please add, trust me people will buy!

This sounds like someone was recording from their pocket with a cell phone (obviously not since this was mid 80s but quality wise). Honestly, Mayhem's Live in Lipzeig sounds like a wonderful recording compared to this. The quality is on par with Death's painfully lofi Reign of Terror demo (which makes Scream Bloody Gore look pristine by comparison). Honestly even as a fan of relatively Lo-fi Black and Death Metal a la Left Hand Path, SBG, Leprosy, Like and Ever Flowing Stream, Stormblast, Transylvania Hunger, De Mysteris, Altars of Madness, etc. this is still kinda painful. It sound like it was recorded under water. I had one chance in London I believe to purchase Seven Churches and I'm still kicking myself for passing it up. I can understand how old school fans can stand it as the demos were of generally this quality, but having been born a bit late to experience this firsthand it's kind of hard for me despite being relatively accepting of low fidelity compared to my mallcore peers. Possessed (arguably) released the first death metal album in the form of Seven Churches, so I would recommend that MOST people steer clear of this and try to find it instead. If you dig this quality check out the Death demos or the Porta recordings on the Nirvana 2002 anthology.
