My favorite(s) are "pocketbook", "if this isn't love", "giving myself", "can't stop the rain", and "we gon fight". I know I just listed a lot of "favorites", but that's just how GREAT the songs are!!!!!! And don't even get me started an how great her voice is, it's both beautiful and strong. I suggested nod you haven't bought the album already buy it NOW.

... Jennifer Hudson's album isn't that bad, not really fond of her type of singing voice but her subject matter isn't bad. I thought she might be a one hit wonder, with "Spotlight" but she's not that bad... pretty solid, track 13 could've been left out though, it clashes with the album. It's like a sore thumb. How about instead of doing a gospel hymn or whatever just showing throughout your songs and your life that God is apart of it?

I couldn't wait to get this when it came out. Then I went on IMEEM (before the MySpace merger) to listen to it, which is something I've always done before I purchase an album of interest. I listened to it several times, and just couldn't get into it. The only songs that I really liked were "If This Isn't Love" (before radio overplayed it), and the final song, "Jesus Promised Me a Home Over There". Of course I liked the Dreamgirls song too, but I saw no reason for it to be here. And "All Dressed for Love" is pretty good, but it's only on certain versions, and it still doesn't make up for the rest of the album. Some of the songs were just plain and generic (eg. Spotlight), while others seemed forced, like they made her sing them only to appeal to younger people (eg. Pocketbook and What's Wrong). Overall, this album wasn't what I expected, and I passed on buying it. I don't think she has a "mainstream voice", which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I just hope that she's able to make more decisions in the production of her next album, as I think her voice is best suited for either neo-soul or gospel.
