There is nothing better than having a composer conduct his own music... you hear exactly what it should be like. I love ALL of eric Whiacre's music, and he has recordings of himself conducting all of it!!! And these two pieces and simply phenominal! Check out his new album Water Night for his new arrangments of them:)

I have to say, Equus is one of the most intricately written songs for woodwinds I've ever heard, and I play brass. But I like this piece so much, it delivers a rather intimidating mood and it is played beautifully by the Youth Orchestra. Well done

Two great songs played by a fantastic band. I want so badly to play Equus, but there's no chance my school could pull it off. Anyways, definitely worth the $2.00.

Wow was exactly the first word out of my mouth when I first heard this. For a youth orchestra to perform these pieces well is amazing. A must buy. Props to the TYO and to Eric Whitacre!

A youth orchestra?? Wow. This ensemble delivers an extremely clean and passionate performance of two of Eric Whitacre's most well-known pieces. I have not heard an ensemble in the United States that plays Equus as well as the TYO. This is a must buy for fans of Eric Whitacre's music. To hear a youth ensemble perform with Eric Whitacre and perform his music so well is very special.
