I love Al Jarreau's voice- he really could sing almost anything. Al became an R&B and pop star in the early '80s, but I'm not sure what direction this album was meant to go in. High tech (for the time) production is front and center, with Al's voice and lyrics taking a back seat. I like "Murphy's Law", "After All", and the final two tracks best. For me, most of the other tracks are overproduced and lack memorable, strong hooks that would have made them hits. Worth a listen for the aforementioned tracks.

This is by no means his most popular or most accomplished music, but I'm sure some will turn to this album's sweetest moments as they mourn the loss of this brilliant vocalist. Thank you, Al, for years and years of great music. Turns out not enough years...

I own the LP and I listen to it probably one a week. The titular song, High Crime, is a jam, but my favorite is Love Speaks Louder Than Words. If you buy this album, it is money worth spent!!

Al Jarreau is just one of the best singers/artist (in my opinion) of all time. I just love his work. He has a versatility and a quality that allowed him to do some incredible things with his vocals, and highlighted his unique talents. The words, rhythms, and melodies were always first class. From the very beginning right up to today Al has remained an awesome talent that has continued to touch millions of hearts with a range of emotions that takes us from laughing to crying, and everything in between. From We Got By and All, to Tommorrow Today and all the rest Al has continued with an extraordinary career that has helped me enjoy my journey through time with a grateful ear and a blessed spirit. I've listened to Al throughout my life, holding on tightly to earlier pieces while embracing new songs in his ever expanding body of work. My thanks goes out to Al Jarreau for carrying tunes that just carried me away. And thank you itunes for making the rest of the collection available to his fans and a new generation of music lovers everywhere. Charles

Al Jarreau is highly versatile and this showcases his unique pop/jazz sensibilities. I'm just listening to this collection after about 20 years hiatus. Al rocks! This is a great album with catchy hooks, funky tunes, jazz influences -- great for people who appreciate pop infused with jazz.

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for "High Crime." Maybe it's because I have great memories of Jersey Shore summers back when this album came out. There are more than a few Al fans who don't care for this album but some of these songs are just awesome. I love "Tell Me" and "Let's Pretend." Am I a cheeseball sometimes? Guilty!

Many people feel that this isn't a jazz recording. I would like to think that Al wasn't just about doing jazz. He like many other people put his own spin on the mid 80s sound, and it brings back very good memories of when it came out. I'm soo happy that iTunes finally has the recording online.

This is a rare album! "Fallin'" and "Let's Pretend" are standouts for me. "After All" was the hit from this batch. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.
