Music should have never been a source of income. It should have been a source of passion, a cure for sad souls, a consolation of the helpless. Baaba Maal is a true legend. He embraces music with all of its facets. He’s able to mix countless types of music and still stick to his own style. I suggest you listen to his other albums such as “Firin in Fouta” or “Baayo” or to his old songs with his childhood companion Mansour Seck. True legends are not appreciated until they leave this world unfortunately.

you can recognize baaba's voice with 3 notes.i think it's baaba himself on acoustic guitar.i love the sound of guitars, n'gonis and kora. the backing vocals take you right across the ocean to africa. beautiful acoustic textures, percolating grooves.close your eyes and you can see the planes of northern senegal.this album is timeless.
