Not the typical bop that Needtobreathe would put out, but the meaning is still felt. I LOVE that Needtobreathe covers several different topics in every album they make and it’s not just about romantic love, heartbreak, or religion. Paying homage to the people in our lives who helped shaped who we are is a noble choice. Sound wise, although it is missing the folky feel, they have made many songs with and without their folky style so I am assuming there will be some songs on the new album that gives their fans the sound of mandolins, banjo’s, and acoustic guitars that we all crave. As I have for the last 15 years, I am eagerly awaiting their new album, Caves. For those who are saying “they fell away from God” - you could not be more wrong. Needtobreathe has ALWAYS written tracks about MANY topics - never just Christianity. Perhaps you can recall these songs from their earlier years: Haley, Girl Named Tennessee, Maybe They’re On To Us, More Time - just to name a few. They have also always labeled themselves as an Alternative band and not a Christian band. Perspective change - if we are looking at it from a Christianity point of view - it is actually genius of them to slip some Christian songs in their albums for the worldly to hear. Remember, God also says: “Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law.” James 4:11-12.

Inspirational, positive and a lot of depth, but not one instrument or vocal overdone… making the sum greater than the parts. Great tune.

Bab1972 is a hater. They could turn my bank statement from September 2016 into a three part harmony and it would still be great. The only person who can assess their relationship with God is God, so take a hike Babs.
  • Good song for a dance party

I think the parts about god are in the second half of the song and the first are about stuff that don’t really matter I’ve seen them do this before with other songs like great night Some of their songs don’t really talk about faith like great night for example but a lot of them do like I am yours and who am I

Sad this band has decided to forsake God & go new like like Gungor did. It is sad to see, but the bible says many will fall away. Don't going them or support their deception of others if the bible & God means anything to you. I pray they will come back to the faith one day.
