  • This one has grown on me quite a lot.

I originally panned this album as a missed opportunity. I've since changed my mind. Multiple listens over time convinced me that maybe it was just too different from the original to appreciate at first. My mistake.
  • Decent album but the death growls are over the top

On one hand I can understand saving the death growls for later albums so as to prolong vocal quality instead of making it constant throughout their entire discography. However it’s a little over the top especially in every single track. I still love Andrea’s soft vocals from their earlier albums and I’d love for them to keep that consistency.

I’ve been a massive Lacuna Coil fan since 2003 and have seen them live 5 times over the years. I consider Comalies to be one of the best albums of all time. I have stopped listening to them since Delirium because Andrea’s screaming is too much. The whole reason I got into the band in the first place is because they were the only European goth rock band that had a female singer with a male singer who didn’t growl/scream. Their first couple albums are so beautiful and ethereal. I’m not sure why they decided to be more “heavy” over the past few years but it sounds forced and so far removed from their original sound. I know that bands grow and evolve but, if it wasn’t for Cristina’s signature vocals, they wouldn’t even sound like the same band anymore. I believe I would LOVE this new take on Comalies if they weren’t trying so hard to be heavier. You’re such an effortlessly amazing, naturally talented band! Stop trying so hard. Or maybe do an acoustic album. Omg please please please do an acoustic album or tour!!!
  • The Original vs Re-worked (Re-done)

Original album is better..love the band though, Christina’s voice is good as always but the screaming/Rough vocals on the re-worked album is a No go and is unnecessary the only song that was reworked that I like was ‘Angels punishment’. A 👍 for the Original album and a 👎 for the re-worked version. ‘Heaven’s a lie’, ‘daylight dancer’, ‘Angels punishment’, ‘Unspoken’ and ‘Self deception’ are my favorites from the Original.

I love the new harder sound. Really adds to the emotion of the music. Keep it up!
  • Ignore the bad reviews.

The bad reviews are from butthurt fans who never liked metal to begin with apparently… If you don’t like screaming, then just accept the fact that Lacuna Coil will never be the same band you fell in love with TWENTY years ago. Stop leaving bad reviews on their new stuff like it will make them change. Grow up! Anyways… This album has been on repeat for me since it dropped! Daylight Dancer is sooooo good. Andrea scream-chanting with those sick drums is eargasmic. The new rendition of The Prophet Said is hands down my favorite. They turned a somewhat meh song into a bone-chilling masterpiece. If Lacuna Coil keeps up this pace, I will be listening to their music until I die. 🤘🏻Lauv u Guyz

It’s almost like a band shouldn’t be able to decide what they want to do with their own work. It’s not like the original is going away or something (they even included it for those new to hearing them for for the first time). They made this, it sounds different, and I don’t mind a different twist on a great album. They’re expanding their fan base with a different sound; sorry they didn’t get permission from fans stuck in the past.
  • Why?! Just why?!

Why are they messing with one of the best lacuna coil albums?? This is just not it for me..way too much screaming/growling from Andre that’s just not necessary, whoever produced the sound for this needs to be fired because it sounds WAYY too blended together you can barely hear any of the instruments or the vocals unless it’s basically quiet and rehire whoever did their Dark Adrenaline album. Comalies is one of my favorite albums and the fact that they did this to make it sound darker and more heavy metal is just disappointing. I’m gonna stick with the original for this. Don’t even bother listening to it. It’s just not the same. Big flop compared to the Black Anima album.
  • Tasteful Remake

I understand the negative reviews, but I also don’t understand people who think comalies was perfect and untouchable. In my opinion, there are things in that album that could improve and lacuna coil did it in this new version. I do have to critique, however, the overly produced chorus in many of the songs; it simply sounded repeated and didn’t fit songs such as humane and the ghost woman and the hunter. However, it’s heavier, darker and has some cool solos. 8/10. Here, I’ll give it a 5
  • What happened to this band?

Lacuna Coil used to be amazing. This sounds like some B-rate band trying to make a cover album. I cannot believe this is the same band. I would expect, if a band was remaking thier earlier material, that it would sound 2x as good, but this is just disappointing. They took some of thier best work and butchered it.
