This is the best work of Kitaro. He succeeded combining ancient oriental vibe with modern beat with edgy beats. If you have his best album, you should get this as second album to buy. If you haven't got any of his album, well, this should be your first experience of his world. Besides, it's only $6,93 for entire album!

Old Navy Goat got it right! This music seems to be a perfect expression of Kitaro. New Age techniques, sounds, and instruments mixed with Kitaro's love and appreciation for historical Japanese culture. This album also shows a deep love for nature since it's so engrained into Japanese culture in general.
  • Love it.

Kojiki is beautifully written and wonderfully executed. This has to be Kitaro's most brilliant work. Powerful arrangements, heartfelt melodies, a most fantastic mix of electronic and traditional instruments all brought together by Kitaro's sheer genius. This is essential Kitaro.

I bought this album when first released in 1990 and still consider it to be the standard by which I measure not only Kitaro's subsequent recordings but also all "New Age" and Oriental classical and neo-classical recordings. There is an element in this recording which finds that place where music stirs the very essence of being. Of the thousands of recordings which I own (all genres except a chosen few) Kojiki defines all that music can and should be when seeking to reach that point where nothing else is required for completeness . . . the music speaks and the heavens listen. As the joy of Yo-Yo Ma resonates through his cello, so does the heart of Kitaro through his keyboards. Kojiki is not "on the cutting edge", it IS the cutting edge.
