A friend turned me on to Kitaro and this album shortly after it came out. I've owned it tape and CD, loaned out every one I bought and never got them back. Have several of his albums. The beauty of Tenku is that the whole album flows with very few breaks. There are beautiful sounds that fill most pauses ( would be breaks) ocean sounds, etc. it flows from start to finish. It was always my "go to" in times of stress, as well as those bummed out times. When in a good mood, it elevated that. There is something truly soul filling about it. Even healing. Here I am buying it yet again, but this time nobody can keep it. Those friends felt the same way I did and I'm happy it helped them, too. This is a must have and at this price... well, a very inexpensive psychologist. Buy it and plug in to yourself. I would give it 100 stars.

I was 2 years old when this album came out! I was turned onto Kitaro from a friend and I must say, Ive been listening to his music ever since. Kitaro's musicianship in this album blows my mind. Its amazing to me how he could create these sounds 26 years ago! I hear so many recordings of "New Age Artists" who are currently releasing music that sounds so dead. I am for one, a young enthusiast of Kitaro's old recordings. Hurray for Non-Digital-Synth sounds. =)

I first heard this a little after its release back in 86. I was stationed in Washington DC. Exploring my ambient, new age and ethereal musical being. I thought this abum was a great conduit to self exploration. I enjoyed immensly. Here it is almost 26 years later and I am re-buying this album. It still has the same effect on me so many years later.

The song "Wings" sounds like it belongs in FF7 or 5. Kitaro's other work like "Symphony of Dreams" (my personal favorite) sounds like an overture for a Myazaki film, which are awesome especially "Princess Mononoke".
