I get why jazz purists are troubled by KW’s approach, but this music is essential to advancing the form and Kamasi is brilliantly taking us there. Bravo!

This music takes us back yet begs us forward. What a journey! Had the day off and listened to the entire thing twice. Nostalgic yet contemporary. Just conjures up a lot of images and stories. Great Sound and great Music. Gotta be in the top 5 0r 10 Jazz recordings this year.
  • Keep one in the plastic because its a classic

The hits keep coming. I have this album on at all times. Can't get enough of it.
  • Exhaustive...and exhausting

I was hoping for something less indulgent after the monumental bore that “The Epic” was; alas this album is also over-the-top with a myriad of cut and paste motifs, the most jarring of which are the choir parts that long to be back on “What’s Going On”.
  • Insanely good!!

This is on maximum rotation at Starbucks.. It's boring, plodding and tedious.

This album is loud and repetitive. And, mostly for an audience who doesn’t know or listen to jazz regularly. They’ll love this. For regular jazz listeners, this album is a big pass.
