Stranger Fruit

This is a highly original take on black metal. If you are a black metal purist, you will probably hate this. If you love blues, soul vocals and melodies and screeched vocals over blast beats, then you are going to love this album. It’s remarkable how effortlessly they blend the spirituals and black metal, industrial, and thrash together. One of the best of 2018. Get it!

Love the blending of black soul music and black metal, sometimes even electronica. It’s incredibly unique and pans out fantastically on almost every track here. The album does hit a bit of a dip in quality in the last half with a few songs that end up being more of a concept than a full song. But, even these tracks are enjoyable. Still a trailblazing record and I’m excited to see this sound explored further on Zeal and Ardor’s next project.

I heard Ship on Fire once on Sirius XM Liquid Metal and bought the album right after. Mind blown! Never heard anything that awesome and the rest of the album didn't disappoint. I love every song, which is rare for me. Just perfect and such an kickass blend of genres. Don't You Dare is my favorite track on this one. Going to pick up their first album now!

Been listening to Zeal & Ardor radio for a while now on Pandora and once I heard “We Can’t Be Found”, I just had to buy both albums at that point. This stuff is just perfect. Big props to 98 KUPD in Phoenix Arizona for exposing me to these guys. Looking forward to more and more from this group.

Zeal & Ardor have established a bar in metal that not many Avant Garde bands will ever be able to reach. This album is absolutely a landmark achievement in Metal.

Great sound! These guys are compelling and they are on the rise.
