Description

Andrew Zimmern is on a quest to find the world's most bizarre foods. He knows that one man's poison is another's delicacy and he'll try anything twice — even if that means chewing on eggs with legs, gulping down a beating frog heart, or polishing off a lamb's eyeball. Andrew knows the most interesting food is found closest to the source, and can reveal a lot about local culture. So whether he's chasing down large water rodents in the Louisiana bayou, fishing for piranha in the Amazon, or flushing out cave bats in Malaysia, you can be sure the guy with the iron stomach will dish up the unimaginable.

All of these used to be about $9.99 a season. Why the price hike? WHo's going to buy it now? No one. And what happens to your profits, Apple? You don't get any, because you're SO EFFING GREEDY!

this guy is so bad a host it makes me sick he gets paid to do this. he eats things that even the locals wont eat. how many times do you have to watch a guy eat some animals brain before you really figure out how dull it is. anthony you got my vote this zimmerman guy two thumbs down.

  • An amazing show, and even better than 'No Reservations'

After reading Tony's great books (kitchen confidential and also nasty bits), I began watching his show 'No Reservations' and by accident, I stumbled up 'Bizarre Foods.' What a terrific show! Yes, Andrew's not as "cool" as Tony, but he is more adventurous, and frankly, a better TV host. I feel like this show is somewhat misunderstood: it isn't merely a glimpse into some of the most astonishingly bizarre foods around, but a great cultural and culinary tour of this world's many interesting and diverse cultures. We happen to learn about these great places vis-à-vis the bizarre food and markets. What makes this show unique, and different from No Reservations, is that as a host, Andrew is extremely adventurous, open, and descriptive. Tony is a great host, but he is far more introspective and has a much more dry sense of humor. With Andrew you immediately warm up to him and, unlike Tony, he offers a great description for everything he tries. After watching the show several times, you begin to see that Andrew's humor lies not only his dialogue, but in his hilarious facial expressions that he makes when he tries something he detests. Not to knock his dialogue, though. Perhaps the funniest thing he said came during the Morocco episode, when he remarked (as he was about to try rotting khalif meat), "The putrid and foul stench that accompanies the rotten and spoiled meat that we mixed in the eggs this morning is doing two things simultaneously that I always thought were mutually exclusive: scaring the pants off of me and attracting every fly within 500 km of Akh-bin-hadu." Definitely try this show out...it's really outstanding, informative, and funny.
