David Blaine, Vertigo

In Vertigo, Blaine stands atop a 100-foot tall pillar in New York City’s Bryant Park, with no harness and no safety net to protect him from the concrete below. After a treacherous 36 hours, he ends the feat by jumping off in front of 50,000 live spectators onto a layer of cardboard boxes. Visitors including Christopher Reeve and Howard Stern come to show support. The special also features Blaine’s incredible brand of close-up magic. He refills a crushed, empty beer can and reseals it just by tapping it with his fingertips. While walking in the street, he reaches his arm through a storefront window and grabs a 
watch from its display case without breaking the glass.
