I couldn’t stand this album (or Borderland) the first couple of times I listened to it. Now I love it. Its my favorite JMM album now.

This CD is amazing. I already have the regular album and this was worth the extra 10. JMM is such an amazing artist, my 6 and 3 year old love to sing to all his songs. I love that it's godly but not cheesy and it has an amazing style of its very own !! My husband and I talk about what an innovator his is with his lyrics, anyways you won't regret this purchase !!

Man, acoustic music is just where (in my opinion) John Mark McMillan shines. I'm LOVING his Borderlands Sessions album acoustically. His strength is in his melodies and lyrics, and acoustic really highlights those. Don't get me wrong, the sounds of his electrics are AMAZING, but his beautiful words get lost in them sometimes... Special guests: Bear Rinehart, Kim Walker-Smith and Sarah... Yes please! The song stories are my favorite, though. It really is bringing the songs to life. I feel like I sound like a wanna be music critic, but this is making my day.

Wow, what wonderful take on these songs. Hearing others express honesty in the commentary and in the other worshippers pouring their interpretation through sound. Just so goooooooooooooooood.
  • So much more than a re-release

I thought Borderland was a masterpiece in itself so hearing that John Mark was back in the studio doing recuts of the songs made me super giddy and others super curious. I will say that this is an INCREDIBLE ADDITION. The additional vocals are at times beautiful and at times haunting and the songs feel so much more raw and cut to the bone this time around. In addition, John Mark’s commentary is incredibly honest and feels like you’re having your favorite drink at the table with him. This release is a must have addition to Borderland!

I think what I really like about this artist is that his songs are just so real. While other Christian artists write great music, it's really written to sell albums. The difference with JMM is that you can hear the sincerity in his music. Not just that the lyrics are poetic (they are), but also in the way he sings. It's hard to describe it because there isn't anything else like it. The commentaries before each song just hammer in how real he is as you get to hear pieces of his heart. Beautiful and haunting, every song is true ear candy.
  • JMM at his best.

I love how this record proves that talent doesn't need editing. Raw JMM at his best. Not to mention the incredible talent of everyone featured in this record. Love every byte.
