Rent (Selections from the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Bonus Track Version]

I have all great things to say about this cd. But I only wished that the song I'll cover you reprised was as powerful and moving as it was in the movie. Other than that this cd is fantastic ((:

It really has nothing to do with the musical or the songs that are available. I have always loved Rent, but the thing I am not the most approving of is that I feel like there is so much emotion that is missing in the voices on the soundtrack. One example of this is the "I'll Cover You (Reprise)" Jesse L. Martin playing Collins, is probably my favorite character in the movie, and this song is equally my favorite because he is so desperately mortified by the death of Angel. He sings the song well in the soundtrack, but It just doesn't reach the level of the movie. Alas, for these examples, I can only give it a 3 star. :( It breaks my heart.

My friends and I love the Rent soundtrack! Idina Menzel is amazing and I have nothing but great things to say about this album!

OMG, I love RENT! Saw Adam Pascal onstage.. amazing! This is such a great, powerful movie. But why does nobody like the song One Song Glory?

THIS IS INCREDIBLE AS WELL AS THE MUSICAL! I LOVE YOU ADAM PASCAL!

I already own the full album, but this album has all of the main songs! Except...sniff sniff....it doesn't have Goodbye Love!! That is the most emotional scene and song in the movie!!! C'mon! But besides that, it has all of the best songs (Seasons of Love, Take Me Or Leave Me, Without You, I'll Cover You (reprise), and Out Tonight)!!! This is great for people who like RENT, but don't want to use their money on all of the smaller and less amazing songs (Life Support)! Now they have the pocketbook of RENT! Now instead of having to tear those pages out, they can enjoy the whole thing!! And fyi...that was a metaphor. I was comparing this album to a book....so don't think I"m crazy and I think this is a book.... But anyways this is a great album with the best songs on it!! BUY THE WHOLE THING!!!

i saw Rent the musical and ever since I have been absolutley obsessed...this broadway cast is to die for...and the movie was not at all dissappointing...truthfully, i like the movie sountrack better...but still this is amazing too!
