This album does what songs are supposed to, transports the listener to another place. Jeffrey Osborne fills a void that you don't realize as NEEDING to be filled until you hear it. He leaves the listener gasping because of being oxygen starved for true talent. Emotions long ago forgotten and oh-so good to feel are evoked when you hear "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "People Get Ready". A long slow sigh of satisfaction is released and I say, "this was good for me and I hope it has been good for you". THANK YOU JEFFREY!!

I've been a fan of Jeffrey Osborne since the LTD days - "Love Ballad" and "Concentrate On You" bring back memories of serenading junior/senior high girls who'd only give you curious smiles for your attempt at being Jeffrey. However, I'm no fan of cover albums, but this one has some beautiful renditions. His cover of Stevie Wonder's classic "Knocks Me Off My Feet" is the must-listen and must-have of the collection. "Hey Girl" is soulful and strong. The nice thing about Jeffrey's versions of the songs (at least the songs I chose to download - the two previously mentioned, "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", and "Yes I'm Ready") is that he stays committed to the original melody. Thanks Jeffrey. It's so good to listen to your voice.

Osborne's style provides the basic ingredients for the person to "Mac" his..or her way into a position of horizontal enrighment. His voice is melodic, the beat consistent and the words are appropriate - tried and true. He has taken was has already been done to the level of refined poetic essence.
