What a beautiful compilation of brass music--and what an incredible brass section! These arrangements are just lovely. I've been lucky enough to study french horn with one of the performers on this CD for the past three years, and the musicianship I've seen in the Met section is just extraordinary. I'm so pleased that this album is finally out! Will definitely be in my rotation of favorites for years to come.

This is an album filed with music of great beauty and elegance, performed by musicians of the highest level. The musicians are true artists, who have gone beyond the notes on the page to capture the raw emotional essence of each selection. This one of the best new albums I've heard. Highly recommended.

What a great album for brass fans! Definitely one of my new favorites up there with Vienna's Horn Section CD and Canadian Brass's Seen and Heard.

Is it just this reviewer, or does Barb sound better each year? Seriously, though, this long awaited release shows off what the MET brass do best: operatic highlights played with their amber-hued, almost honeyed, tones. Bravi!!
