  • TOMMY CASTRO HIT A GOLD RUN !!!!

With his band running on all 8 cylinders, and his great guitar and horn sections doing their expected best TOMMY CASTRO and company may have a GOLD ALBUM on there hands with this one...HARD BELIEVER IS NOT HARD TO BELIEVE..... TOMMY CASTRO has always been a hot boogie woogie style of the blues and this album is no different. The hit on this album IMHO is the re-make of YA GOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY. This song was fantastic when first written and to take on a great song and have it come out as well as it did surely must have put a smile on TOMMY and THE BOYS. So now the only thing left is to put a smile on your face....HOW?? BUY THIS ALBUM !!!!! You surely have spent 9.99 on things that gave you much less happiness then this album is a guarantee to. Enjoy....I AM !!!! St James
  • I love Castro's variety.

If you listen to all of this band's CDs, you find a wonderful variety. This album fits with everything else and is as great as the previous. His band is best suited for blues clubs where everyone gets to get up and dance. Its not just listening music. Blues, fast or slow, is the most sensual and redemptive music ever made, and Castro's is at the top."Make it Back to Memphis " the example I'm talking about.
  • No one should be a hard believer about Tommy Castro!

This is good stuff. Who ever says it isnt must be smoking crack. The Cover of My Babe is a refreshing new sound on the old classic, that leaves the listner toe tapping. It is good to know some one is putting out new stuff that is worth buying.

I saw Tommy Castro live at the Magic City Blue Festival in Billings, Montana on Aug.7th. this year.He put on a great show.Really liked his style.Bought his Cd.at the show although the it didn't go out the record stores until the fallowing Tuesday. If you like blues with an up tempo beat with lots of hard driving rhythm you will really enjoy this CD. One of my favorites in my blues collection of music.

I'm a long time Tommy Castro fan and am not disappointed in the least with this album!!! I've seen him perform live many times and he and his band are always great live, but so is this album....Love it and am sharing it with everyone I know. Definition of Insanity is a great, catchy song; Monkey's Paradise has a great beat and you can't sit still when hearing it; Backup Plan is soulful and Tommy at his best, and 99-1/2 does not disappoint either. Lovin it!

  • Critics??

Leave it up to a critic to attempt to hasten the opportunity for a great blues musician to attempt something different. I have yet to listen to the album, but the problem with this country these days is everyone is a critic. Instead of doing something yourself, creating something yourself, you chose to attack a musician who has simply put out another album. I have an idea, instead of the bad parts lets accentuate the positive!! Lets get people excited to try new music and maybe if they are unfamiliar with Tommy, they will dig back and find all of his great work. Promote the dying music industry don't scare people away. With things like itunes cripling the entire sociology of music, we need positive thinkers!! Try to pull it together USA!! Lets take care of each other and help each other by staying positive, buying US products (especially cars) and try to remember they are your countrymen building them. So, the next time someone asks you for and opinion, give them an honest one with a positive side to it!! GO BLUES!!

Another fine effort of The TCB. It's hard to top "Painkiller", but Tommy and crew have done a great job as always. "Definition Of Insanity", "Monkey's Paradise", and "Gotta Serve Somebody" are worth the cost alone. It's feel good blues and soul at it's finest! That's true of all he does. Buy this album! And see him live whenever you can; you won't regret it.
  • The posted review of this is dead wrong and not listening.

    1. This is not supposed to be a live record, if he had wanted it to be it would have been. 2. Its an artists right to expand and move within a career. Life is not one dimensional and a career is not either. 3. If you listen this is a killer set of tunes by a great artist, a facet of a many sided jewel that is T.C. 4. Do what you love and the rest will follow, T.C. is doing just that! 5. Buy it and you will get great tunes delivered by a passionate and talented blues icon!!
