Just got the news that Joe Sample passed,this is one of his finest works.I purchased this on cassette back in ’89 after hearing my brother play it at his home and I was blown away by U turn and though I had listened to the Crusaders for years it was something about this tune that gave me goosebumps,and it still does to this day.thanks Mr.Sample for the joy of great music.Peace

Timeless Album

I remember hearing this album when it came out in 1989 as a kid. My parents would play this album on long road trips. I would be in the back seat looking out the window and songs like "Spellbound", Seven Years of Good Luck", "Sermonized" and "Luana en New York" got my head nodding, and made seating in the back of a mini-van with my older sister on a 6 hour road trip more tolerable. Spellbound is my favorite Joe Sample album and made me a life long fan of Joe Sample.

I recently heard "U Turn" on the radio...it brought back great memories and reminded me how great Joe Sample is. Great collaborations, but Joe is the show!
