  • One of the best live albums recorded!

Hand down one of the best. Band kills with JR Robinson on drums and the rest and Chaka tear it up. Don’t understand the beg comments here. Inexperienced ears?

This was a great concert and it is a great album. I wish I could have played some latin percussion instruments on it… It is a good play along album for musicians who would like to sit in with a great Funk band. I use it to keep my chops tight!

This band was major and had its major moments live along with the misses that come with risk. Chaka's phrasing is always ingenious but even more so live. This is one of the few chances to hear a live recording of the band. Take it.
  • A really missed opportunity to end Rufus w a BANG

Rufus putting out a live album is great on paper, but the results were quite bad. First and foremost, Chaka is hit and miss in concert in regards to her vocals being up to par. When these live tracks were thrown together she was clearly not THERE. Also the band Rufus also is just so-so. This is not an intimate affair. Pack'd My Bags is too good of a song that she could have hada real moment with but... The studio cuts are decent. My favorite is Try A Little Under-standing and brilliant Don't Go To Strangers. I've never got the hype of Ain't Nobody and I still hate to hear her do it in concerts now.

If you can only download one song, download "Ain't Nobody". Great track.
