A lot of the best songs on this LP were done in superior fasion on the live'' Moonflower '' lp. There ws no need to go back and pick up the lp. Sales died at that point.

"Festival" is one of those mid 70's Santana albums that was good, but certainly no match for albums like Abraxas, III, Santana, or even Welcome. Compared to those albums, "Festival" is very soft in composition. But, hard does not always mean better and "Festival" is a good example of the versatility demonstrated by such a talented guitarist/artist. Certainly, there are times when I want to take it easy for a while and it usually involves listening to "Festival". For those who only enjoy the Santana of the early days, this album is probably not for you. For the softer Santana listener or the hardcare Santana fan, this is a good album worth the price.
