I was never a big classical fan. I listened, and heard it, but never appreciated it. But a few years ago I was flipping the channels and happened upon Andre Rieu, Live in Dublin, on my local PBS channel. I quit flipping, and listened for another 2 hours. I was hooked. Classical music became interesting to me after that, and I have listened to many other albums by Rieu.
Perhaps the most significant thing that has come from listening to Rieu is that I am listening to more classical music in general. I have also enjoyed Alison Balsom, Bond, and many others who have interpreted classical music in a culturally relevant way.
