I don’t think there’s a better blueprint for an artist that tackles eras. Tory already is known for his Chixtape mixtape series, where in each Chixtape he samples songs from different eras (Chixtape IV being the 90s, Chixtape V being early 2000s)
With Tory taking that previous experience of success with painting pictures of certain timely sounds, he created a whole world with this 80s album. A new character, a new version of himself.
Having both sides of this completed project being released 2 years apart, and having both sides being a genuine 10/10, marks the level of genius him and his production team have and hitting the ball the right way.
Hopefully we get another Eras tribute a decade from now when he gets released from jail, but thankful that he’s given us this in the meantime.
